The Project Equality Diversity and Inclusion Summit was held on February 24 at Penn Valley Community College. Over 160 people attended the day long summit. 

Those who attended included community activists, business and nonprofit leaders, high school students and representatives from local/state and regional governmental agencies. 

Senator Jolie Justus, Mayor Sly James, Dr. Rochelle Rollins and Superintendent Stephen Green were among those who discussed the status of diversity in our community. Patricia Brown-Dixon and Bernardo Ramirez lead a conversation on economic development. A panel discussion on employment was facilitated by Dr. Dorothy Witherspoon. Panelists were Carlos Gomez, Clyde McQueen, David Robinson and Bambi Shen.
